Ok, so you want to keep snails. That’s great! But how do you get ready for them? What do you need to buy for them?
You will need...
1. A storage container
2. A spray bottle
3. Snail-Safe substrate
4. Sticks and stones
5. Hides Houses
6. Of course, your snails!
Before you purchase your snails, you need to setup their habitat. You don’t have to spend a bunch of money on a fancy expensive habitat, because a plastic storage container will work just the same. Be sure to drill little holes in the lid though, so that your snails can breathe.
Cover the bottom of your snail’s enclosure with a few inches of snail safe substrate. Snail safe substrate has NO pesticides or fertilizer. You can use something like EcoEarth, which can be found easily online and in some pet stores. Decorate the habitat with sticks, stones, and hidey houses such as empty clean yogurt containers.
The spray bottle is absolutely VITAL for snails, that is how they get their water, it helps them move, and they will stay clean. They will also be much more active, and snails are 200x cuter when you can actually see them.
